Best Lion's Mane Recipe: Crispy Mushroom Steaks (15 minutes)
Ingredients (for 2 people):
300 g fresh lion's mane (fringed beard)
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon rosemary
salt and freshly ground pepper
optional: a little soy sauce or lemon juice for extra flavor
Procedure:
Clean the lion's mane and cut it into thick steaks (about 1 cm).
Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds, then add the steaks.
Season with paprika, rosemary, salt and pepper.
Fry for 3–4 minutes on each side until they get a golden-brown crust and a crispy texture (like meat!).
Finally, drizzle with a little soy sauce for umami flavor.
Serve with fries, salad or in a sandwich like a vegan burger. The taste is incredible – meaty, juicy and full of flavor!
Tip: Lion's mane mushrooms shrink a lot when cooked, so use large enough pieces. This is the best and quickest way to enjoy all the benefits of the mushroom in one dish.
